Hackintosh upgrade service

Upgrade Your Hackintosh to macOS Tahoe or Sequoia

Moving an existing Hackintosh to a new macOS version is where most builds break. We update OpenCore, kexts and SMBIOS, handle the Tahoe audio and Wi-Fi changes, and keep a rollback plan ready, all over a live remote session.

Why upgrades go wrong

Tahoe changed more than any recent macOS release

macOS 26 Tahoe is the last macOS for Intel hardware, and it removed pieces that many Hackintoshes depended on. An upgrade that worked fine from Ventura to Sonoma can fail badly on the jump to Tahoe.

Before we touch your system we check your current EFI, your hardware and your apps, then pick the safest path: Tahoe, Sequoia, or staying where you are.

Onboard audio

Apple removed AppleHDA in Tahoe, so AppleALC-based audio stops working. We set up a working alternative or advise staying on Sequoia.

Broadcom Wi-Fi

Broadcom cards lost native support in Sonoma. Restoring them needs root patches and careful security settings.

SMBIOS limits

Tahoe only supports four Intel Mac models, so your SMBIOS may need to change, which affects iMessage and iCloud.

Outdated OpenCore

Old OpenCore and kext versions are the top cause of failed upgrades and boot loops.

What we do

A safe upgrade, step by step

Audit your current setup

We review your EFI, OpenCore version, kexts, SMBIOS and hardware, and confirm the target macOS version is right for you.

Back up and plan a rollback

We make sure you have a bootable backup of your current EFI and a way back if anything misbehaves.

Update OpenCore and kexts

OpenCore, Lilu, WhateverGreen, VirtualSMC and every other kext are updated and the config.plist is migrated properly.

Upgrade macOS

We run the upgrade over the air or from a USB installer, whichever is safer for your machine.

Fix what Tahoe breaks

Audio, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB are re-checked and repaired for the new version.

Test and hand over

Sleep, iServices and stability are tested, and you keep a copy of the new EFI.

FAQ

Upgrade questions

Should I upgrade my Hackintosh to macOS Tahoe?

Only if your hardware and apps are ready. Tahoe gets security updates for about three years and is the final Intel macOS, but it drops native onboard audio and some Wi-Fi. For many builds Sequoia is the more comfortable choice. We will advise you honestly.

Can you upgrade a Hackintosh that someone else built?

Yes. We regularly upgrade systems built with prebuilt EFIs, older OpenCore versions or even Clover, and we rebuild the EFI where needed.

Will I lose my files and apps?

A normal macOS upgrade keeps your files and apps. We still ask you to have a Time Machine or clone backup before we start.

What if the upgrade fails?

That is what the rollback plan is for. With your old EFI backed up, we can boot your previous setup while we fix the problem.

Can you move me from Clover to OpenCore?

Yes. Clover is no longer a good choice for modern macOS, and we can migrate you to a clean OpenCore setup as part of the upgrade.

Upgrade without the headache

Send us your current setup and target macOS version. We will tell you if it is a good idea, and what it takes.
